Reminders about Dress

7th Grade students (and reminder to Women's Chorus and Men's Chorus), we have discussed in class and in your disclosure document with your parents what you need to wear for your concert. It is very important to be uniform. :)

Girls will wear the following:

• A black dress OR black skirt + black shirt (to the knees or longer)
• Black tights or nylons
• Black dress shoes (closed or open toe; flats or heels)

Boys will need to wear the following:

• Black (or almost black) dress pants
• White suit shirt (button with collar; short or long sleeves)
• Conservative tie
• Black socks and black dress shoes

E-time Rehearsals

We will be holding some combined choir e-time rehearsals in the choir room.

Dates and times:

Friday,Dec 5th: 8th and 9th graders only!
We will be rehearsing "Believe" and "Immanuel" with AWE, Encore, Men's Chorus, and Women's Chorus (no 7th grade). You will be receiving attendance credit for this assignment, so be sure you can come!

Thursday, Dec 11: 7th graders only!
We will be rehearsing "Over the River" and "Holly Jolly" together and will be placing ourselves on the risers. Be sure you can come so you have a place to stand in the concert!

Christmas Concerts December 16th

WHO: Oak Canyon Choirs -- 7th, 8th, and 9th graders

WHAT: Christmas Concerts

WHERE: Auditorium

WHEN: 7th Grade -- 5:00-5:45

      8th/9th Grades -- 6:00-7:00 AND 7:15-8:15

Because of past demand of seats during the Christmas concerts, we have decided to try performing the SAME concert TWICE this year!  Parents, we'd love to see you at either the 6pm concert or the 7:15 concert (of course, if you're feeling really festive, you're welcome to come to both).

7th Graders will perform in a separate concert at 5pm.  Two choirs, one concert!  

We're excited!  See you there!

STUDENTS: remember that your CALL time begins one hour before your concert (7th: 4pm, 8th/9th grade: 5pm)

SEVENTH Grade In-class Concerts

The 7th grade in-class concerts will be held on November 7th during their class periods.  Beginning Choir will perform during B1 from 8:20 until 9:05 and Intermediate Choir will perform during B4 from 1:30 until 2:15.  Parents and friends are all invited to come!  Students, remember to wear a nice pair of blue jeans and an fall-colored, solid shirt (no writing or designs).  

AWE and Encore Uniforms are IN!

Attention AWE and Encore students:

Your uniforms are here!  Please come by the choir room as soon as you can to pick up your dress or tux.  Girls, remember to have your dresses hemmed as soon as possible so you can be ready for your concert on Wednesday!

Here is a list of performances if you're looking for ideas for your concert report.  There are many, many more concerts out there, so don't feel like you HAVE to go to one on this list.  Remember, your report is due December 19th.  Make it good!

Hello!

We're almost ready for our first concert coming up on October 29th at 6pm. Remember that students need to be in the auditorium at 5pm dressed and ready to start warming up! The concert should be less than an hour long, so you should make it to your 7pm appointments.
